“A WOMAN GETS PRETTIER AFTER BECOMING A MOTHER.”
This statement is true in every sense. Life is already so pretty and creating a life within you is even prettier and magical. This nine months journey is probably a woman’s biggest and most beautiful dream. We think creating life is nothing but magical, more like an epitome of love. A woman carrying a baby in her belly is so full of love that it is surprising how can you love someone without seeing or touching them. And the answer to that is, a woman can feel her baby growing inside her. And this needs no proof that a mother starts loving her child the moment she learns about her pregnancy. This goes not just for mothers, but fathers as well. As it is something formed out of their love and union. Your beautiful bundle of joy is ready to grow inside your womb and you are ready to nurture it.
Now even though the beauty of this process outweighs the problems faced by the woman, you cannot just ignore them. After all, for a healthy pregnancy, you need to take care of the mother. Sometimes you try to ignore minor signs and symptoms, thinking it is normal. But ignoring such things can become a threat to your life and also to your unborn child.
There can be complications and sickness, and everything needs to be taken seriously. But it should not scare you or discourage you from planning a pregnancy. It is just an example of ‘PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE.’ also when something is so beautiful and precious, it does need to be taken care of.
Your body is doing something incredible and for that, it needs all the support and care you can provide it with.
Here are some things that are important to keep in mind for people who are going to become parents:
Keep A Check On What You Eat
Some foods carry a small risk of infections, such as toxoplasmosis or listeriosis. And some can cause food poisoning, such as salmonella. Some foods can have an abundance of vitamin A or mercury, which can harm your developing baby.
Foods like mold-ripened soft cheese, such as Camembert or Brie, and soft blue‑veined cheese and unpasteurized milk are likely to carry listeria. Though listeria infection is very rare if you contract it, your unborn child can get severely damaged.
Avoid eating raw or partially cooked eggs or food that may contain them (such as mayonnaise) and unpasteurized milk as they can cause severe diarrhea and vomiting because of carrying salmonella. However, it is not harmful to the baby. But can make you feel weak. Uncooked or undercooked ready‑prepared meals should also be avoided for they have a chance of carrying the toxoplasmic parasite and can cause severe damage to the fetus.
Change Your Sleeping Habits
Going to sleep on your back in the third trimester doubles your risk of stillbirth. But if you sleep on your side you will be sleeping safely for your baby. you may wake up in any position and that’s fine.
Consider Taking Vaccinations
Vaccinating yourself during your pregnancy is very important for you as well as your baby. The best time to get vaccinated to protect your baby is from week 16 up to 32 weeks of pregnancy. You can have the vaccine anytime from 16 weeks but if you have it after 38 weeks it may be less effective. There is evidence that pregnant women can be more at risk of developing complications if they get flu during pregnancy.
Do Not Ignore These Symptoms
Some symptoms should always be checked with a doctor as they could be a sign that the baby is unwell.
- Vaginal bleeding
- Pain while urinating
- Blurred vision
- Constant headaches
- Diminishing baby movements
- Itch on hands and feet
- Sudden pain or abdominal cramps
Get Rid Of Bad Habits
For a healthier pregnancy, you need to change or completely get rid of some bad habits that can prove harmful for the baby. Eating for two, smoking, drinking alcohol, consuming excess caffeine, doing drugs, skipping medication, all such habits should be avoided.
Take Care Of Your Mental Health
Get rid of all the negative thoughts and stress and find happiness in small things and make an effort towards clearing all the unwanted and useless thoughts from your mind, maybe by meditating, singing, writing, or any such activity that you enjoy and which is not physically straining. If things get out of control make sure to see a therapist or a psychiatrist
Always remember only a healthy and happy mother can deliver a healthy baby. Try to follow these few things and we hope you have an easy pregnancy ending in beautiful childbirth.
